Introduction
The
marketing plan assignment aims at providing an analysis of how to market the
Big Read program, the marketing strategies to use, the budget for the different
marketing strategies, and the results from the marketing plan. The Big Read
program aim at targeting thousands of people from different communities; thus,
the program will use a marketing strategy that will attract many people.
Marketing Strategies
One
marketing strategy to use for the Big Read Program in Muncie community is
through the use of video marketing or YouTube. When using video marketing,
there is usually no limit to the video that one can create and upload every
day. Therefore, it is possible to market the Big Read program through video
marketing and ensure that you upload as many videos as possible. Marketing
through videos can help to attract traffic every day that will mean that more
and more people are learning about the program (Kurtz & Boone2015). Another
strategy for marketing the program is through social media. Creating a Facebook
account can also be a better strategy to market the program. Establishing a
page for the program will help build an audience and also encourage them to
like the page. The more like that the page had, the more it looks popular which
will also encourage more people to like it in a domino effect.
Another
method of marketing the program is through putting flyers in the neighborhood.
That will help to raise awareness. While marketing the program, it is also
important that in the strip mall, to consider trading offers with the neighbors
as it is a great way to reaching people in the shopping malls. Muncie
organizations can also help in marketing the Big read program through providing
employees with the flyers and also providing them with the chance of accessing the
program. In this way, employees will be a good marketing strategy through the
word of mouth to their friends and other people.
Budget
Marketing
is essential, and it is necessary to get the marketing strategy right (Kurtz
& Boone2015). One should not blow the whole budget on one channel of
marketing. Therefore, to ensure that the marketing reach a wide audience, the
best ways for marketing the program are through video marketing, Facebook, use
of flyers, and word of mouth. These methods of marketing will cost less than
$50 of the budget allocated for marketing. The word of mouth will not cost
anything. However, the use of YouTube for posting the videos and publishing the
flyers are what will account for much of the budget.
Marketing Activities and Results
When
using Facebook in marketing the program, we developed a page for the program
that provided information about the program. Currently, the program has
attracted a lot of people as it has over 1050 likes. Many activities are
happening on the page that includes people asking questions and others
discussing topics on the page. The YouTube is also another platform used in
posting videos regarding reading and also sharing stories. The number of people
watching the videos is increasing, which means that more people are getting to
know about the Big Read Program. When using flyers as a marketing strategy, the
method was able to reach a large group of audience that included both students
in the middle and high school and the local citizens in the Muncie community.
Reflection
In
conclusion, our group was more than satisfied with the outcome of this project
as well as the pre-planning that went into it.
Due to an effective marketing plan and schedule, we were able to meet
our outreach requirement of 100 individuals as well as utilize and test out
various marketing strategies in the process. Through the assessment of the
marketing plans that the group utilized, it was clear that some of the
strategies generate better results than the other. Also, we were to establish
that the costs that go into a marketing campaign do have a direct relationship
with the outcomes. For instance, even though we did not incur a lot of expenses
in the use of Facebook, it generated better results than the YouTube strategy.
Additionally it was apparent that possessing
basic market information is very vital in the designing of the marketing
strategies as well as deciding the method to offer additional emphasis and
funding. The rationale behind the desire to possess the information about the
market is it will make the mapping of the customers easier in addition to
designing the appropriate marketing content that will attract the target, the
customer. Through the preliminary results of the marketing, the bigger
marketing share should be for the strategies that have demonstrated the ability
to attract customers to the business while assessing conducting research to
improve the others. All in all, the fact that we were able to reach our target
requirement is an indication of the effectiveness of our marketing plan.
