What are the current changes in the methods used by both fathers and mothers to take care of their children?

Answer

            There is decreased commitment and autonomy in the present world due to the rise of employed mothers and the reduction of the male breadwinners. The care given to the children has a different dimension to the previous care given to children since women used to stay at home as the principal caregivers. Many children currently live under the care of the single parents or both parents, but the main care is from the mothers. The parents have a challenge of striking the balance between the need for providing economic support and the devoting time and attention to the children (393).

            The mother’s employment is very beneficial to the care given to the children. The notion of women being independent enhances their ability to contribute to parental uplifting (393). Most of the families depend on the mothers for their support especially the single parent ones. The involvement of women in the family upbringing is a major boost to the current family setups.

            On the other hand, the contributions of the fathers in breadwinning are the common scenario in the family set up. Their effect is not sufficient due to the rising demands of the current society. Many fathers concentrate on providing financial support and do not care about the other roles of upbringing their children (394).
